How does it work
Discover how TypeMission helps your child master touch typing in a fun and highly effective way.
Course Structure
The teaching method behind TypeMission was developed by the Leiden Educational Institutions (LOI) together with gamification experts at Organiq. It’s built on a simple but powerful principle: a little practice every day works far better than one big study session. Short, consistent training helps children retain what they learn and progress with confidence.
Over 20 weeks, students practice for about 10–15 minutes a day, five days a week. If your child misses a day, no problem — the course is fully self‑paced and flexible.
During the first 11 weeks, your child gradually learns to locate every letter on the keyboard without looking. From week 12 onward, the focus shifts to repetition, accuracy, and building speed.
By the end of the 20‑week program, your child will type blind and error‑free, reaching a minimum speed of 120 characters per minute.
Weekly Course Breakdown
Daily Typing Lessons from Miss J
Each day, your child receives a clear, engaging typing lesson from Miss J. With her step‑by‑step explanations, students learn new letters every week and discover exactly which finger to use for each key. She also teaches proper typing posture, helping children build healthy habits from the start. Challenging letters appear more often, giving students the extra repetition they need to master them with confidence.
Typing Practice
After each lesson, your child completes a focused typing exercise. These exercises reinforce the letters learned that day, ensuring steady progress. Letters your child finds challenging appear more frequently, giving them the extra repetition needed to master every key with confidence.
Type Games
Every day, your child gets time to dive into our exciting type games — fast‑paced mini‑challenges that strengthen typing skills while keeping motivation high. These games are woven into the spy storyline, so each mission feels like part of a bigger adventure. Children crack codes, dodge lasers, and complete secret tasks, all while practicing the letters they’ve learned.
A Gripping Story
An exciting story unfolds at the SuperSpySchool: someone is out to steal the records of every spy. Your child sets off on thrilling missions, cracking codes and carrying out typing assignments along the way. Typing skills grow through play.
Fun Rewards
Typing assignments, type games and thrilling missions all earn your child points. Those points can be spent in the SpyShop on clothing, gear for their spypad and posters.
Weekly Wrap-Up
Every lesson week ends with a test. The tests are woven into the story, so there is no pressure — it is simply satisfying to see how much progress has been made. And after the very last one? Your child is rewarded with a real diploma!
